For our client located in Essen we are currently looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst
Start: middle of November
Duration: 3-6 months
Location: Essen
Remote: 1 day per week
Language: Fluent English, German would be an advantage
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Responsible for the New Customer Solutions (NCS) data model containing operational, finance and sales data from multiple source systems across different functions, domain areas and regions in the client's new solution business
- Set-up and implement best-practice operating policies and governance over use of process and systems infrastructure to ensure the single version of the truth.
- Support the diverse needs of users to meet challenging deadlines for planning and reporting.
- Promote and enable a 'self-serve ' approach to data access so as to maximise productivity of finance users.
- Promote continuous improvement in planning and reporting methods and techniques, working closely together with the team to ensure the architecture is continuously aligned and improved
- Develop data base from an early stage into a best in class solution which allows the use of analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods to prepare and analyze data for predictive modelling
- Identify undeveloped data and extract insights to drive operational and top management decisions
- Support and implement in conjunction with IT the link to new data sources across various systems
- Integrate current data cube and the client's digital platform in close cooperation with the digital unit
- Design/Build/Implement dashboards and automated reporting to support the wider planning and reporting users.
- Maintenance of the reporting definitions, ensure all data and systems are aligned to make sure full numbers are reported.
- Administer core database applications to support the NCS planning and reporting processes
- Conduct trainings for colleagues and team members
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent work experience in business intelligence, preferably in an advanced analytics context
- Outstanding analytical and conceptual competences
- Excellent result-driven and problem solving skills
- Advanced knowledge in SAP and/or Microsoft Business Intelligence and business warehouse tools (SAP BW on Hana; SAP BO analysis for office; Power BI)
- High level of self-initiative, commitment and ability to solve complex tasks in a rapidly developing environment
- Key understanding and contacts within the wider BI network to keep on top of the ever changing and improving BI environment
- Ability to influence the use of best in class solutions
- Experience of working with Agile development methods and Design Thinking a plus
