We are currently searching for a Technical Lead Developer to work in Munich area, Germany for 6 months + extensions.
Summary Overview of Responsibilities:
The role basically fulfils 2 functions which are to take on the technical management and direction of the department (in conjunction with Section Heads and the Department Manager), and to be able to spend 50% of the time in developing and maintaining existing applications.
Our client need someone who has a clear knowledge of development processes and procedures, able to tailor such, be able to present those ideas to management level and developers, and in such a way that there is a general consensus in its implementation. Additionally, as part of the senior developer experience, be able to establish and direct both architecture and design paradigms, so there is a coherent policy followed across the department that incorporates both functional and non-functional aspects of such.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in the architecture, design and implementation of solutions. Ensure that any software that is implemented uses state-of-the-art methodology's and meets quality standards.
- Constantly keep abreast of the latest technologies available on the market and evaluate the potential for including these technologies in the solutions provided by the team.
- The creation and tracking of project and/or product plans to ensure new releases are implemented in time.
- Perform the role of, or work with Project and Product Mangers to ensure major milestones are met and new releases are implemented in time.
- Ensure new solutions are accurately documented and when required present the architecture and business case for said solutions to senior management
- When incidents or problems occur, help the operational teams diagnosis and recover from the service disruptions.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills:
- Excellent understanding of many Software Engineering methodology's (UML, Extreme/Agile Programming, BPM, BEPL, ITSM, ITIL, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of one or more Operating Systems (Linux, HP-Unix, Windows, etc.)
- Must be experienced with C++ and/or Java/J2EE programming languages and IDE environments
- Excellent understanding of many standard web and Application Server products, such as Apache, JBOSS, Glassfish, WebLogic
- Excellent understanding of many standard markup languages and web service protocols, such as XML, XSL, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, JMS, MQSeries
- Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle - requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support
- Ability to lead technical team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English essential, both written and spoken
Relevant Job Experience
Over 8 years experience working in the Software Engineering discipline. Previous experience performing successful leadership roles on technical teams a must.
