The Role:
Our Renewable Energy client is looking for an Electrical Engineer (substations) to work in German Water on an offshore wind farm project.The Substation Electrical Manager will be responsible for various engineering and project management tasks necessary to achieve the successful delivery of the project, on and offshore substations with respect to safety, cost, time, quality and interface management.
Responsibilities
* Detailed electrical design of primary, secondary and auxiliary system
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant International, National and ECR internal standards/requirements.
* Management of sub-packages of substation electrical scope from design through pre-construction, construction, load out, installation and commissioning phases
To include
* Monitoring deadlines and milestones
* Control of contract obligations
* Monitor, check, evaluation of contractual issues during the contract execution phase
* Control budgets and costs associated with the offshore substation electrical works
* Detailed examination of invoices, claims and their evaluation and authorisation
* Organise, prepare and where necessary chairing internal and external project meetings
* Monthly reporting to OFTO/Grid, engineering and project management
* To work in co-operation with the interface manager and other package managers
* Co-ordinate contractors for key substation interface in line with the project interface management process
* Support the Grid/OFTO manager in provision of relevant information for grid connection and compliance matters with GB TSO (NGET)
* Technical support to OFTO process and co-operation with the OFTO owner
* Support to QA/QC process during design, manufacture, transportation, installation and commissioning phases of the project
* Liaise and co-ordinate with other project teams to apply synergies, best practice and lessons learnt that will benefit the project and the client
* Provide support to manager reviews, technical workshops and input to gate review process
* Team player with the ability to co-ordinate with broader packages
