IPTV Solution Architect - Linux, Integration, MPEG-2, EPG, IP, DTT, STB, AVC, H.264, Compression
RIZE's client is a market leading telecommunication organization looking for the ideal candidate to work alongside the Design team who in turn will build a carrier grade IPTV service for a reliable delivery of multi-screen entertainment services over IP.
Ensure operational best practices and deployment of associated tools, guaranteeing a seamless hand-over of the solution to the operational department for a reliable and high-quality end-user service
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Act as tech lead on the design of the end to end architecture of the IPTV service
- To work with vendors, system integrators and internal colleagues on the implementation of the platforms and services
- To test all components of the solution
- To facilitate the definition of operational best practices
- Work closely with Architects/Design specialists
- 5+ years industry experience and expertise on IPTV technology.
- 10+ years industry experience in the telecommunication and/or IT field (eg software engineering, system administration or network engineering/administration)
- Knowledgeable in major technical disciplines necessary for the end-to-end system design, analysis, integration, and testing of various digital video broadcast and delivery systems
- Understanding of video compression technologies
- Understanding of MPEG-2, MPEG-4 H.264/AVC software compression and streaming video technologies
- Experience in conditional access and digital rights management systems
- Set top box hardware and software specification, integration and testing
- Understanding of Middleware, digital rights management, encryption, and the integration into office Back End system.
- Network design experience in a multi-protocol, multi-vendor environment.
- Extensive background in Internet related protocols and applications.
- In depth knowledge of IP Multicast.
- Understanding of EPGs, home gateways, IP and Hybrid set top boxes.
- Experience of DTT and Satellite an advantage.
- Experience in Linux/Unix system administration an advantage.
- Excellent Troubleshooting skills - logical and systematic approach to problem solving
