An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Desk Side Support Analyst to join a fast growing company in Cologne, Germany for 2 months.
Purpose of Role
To provide tier 2 desk-side support services, carrying out maintenance activities, service introductions and small projects
Key deliverables:
Deliverable Related tasks
Operational excellence
*Provide Desk Side Support services ensuring that all requirements are met within agreed service targets
*Adhere to and follow internal escalation procedures
*Ensure that deliveries are complying to best practices and policies
*Provide an effective Infrastructure Service administration and maintenance service
*Provide on-site cover from 8:00 - 18:00, Mon- Fri as part of a shift arrangement
Tier 2 issue resolution
*Apply technical skills and experience to resolve tier 2 issues within agreed SLAs
*Work with the wider Global Infrastructure Services team to ensure a seamless service is provided to all users
User training and education
*Manage and roll out ongoing user training
*Work with the Helpdesk, sharing knowledge and providing support documentation to meet their ongoing training requirements
*Continually seek to educate users when resolving tier 2 queries
*Seek to learn new technologies and shared and apply knowledge to the Desk-Side Services environment
Implementation and maintenance of the standard desktop
*Work with the Systems Engineering team to maintain a standard desktop environment
*Participate in service introductions and small projects, working within agreed deadlines and budget constraints and regularly reporting progress
Other Specific Requirements
Essential
*Service minded, interacting with users in a polite, efficient and responsive way
*Able to develops, document, govern and maintain best working practices
*Excellent working knowledge of
oServer and desktop hardware, particularly HP products
oWindows Active Directory; administration, global policies and policy software installation
oMicrosoft Windows Server; administration and client services.
oMicrosoft Exchange 2003; administration
oUsing desktop management tools ie SMS and WSUS
oRemote Access solutions and mobile computing
*Good working knowledge of Local Area Network infrastructure, including VLANS and Wireless DHCP and services including DNS, WINS and DHCP
*Experience in working with Server Services such as VMWare, MS Virtual Server, Back Up Exec
*Strong skills or experience in Microsoft Windows desktop and Microsoft Office suite, equivalent to MCP or similar
*Be prepared to work out of hours when required and to provide out of hours on-call support cover as part of a rota
