Requirements:Strong understanding of customer migrations, both open systems and Mainframe. High-level understanding of all technical towers.
Strong understanding of migrations involving minimal outage windows with few test opportunities
The ideal candidate will have a deep, hands-on technical background with a specialization in one or more of the following disciplines: Systems Administration, Network, Database Management, or Storage.
Demonstrated ability to understand technology, research issues, and solve technical problems.
Presentation experience to technical and non-technical audiences
Desire to retain technical depth and continue to expand technical breadth
10+ years of deep technical experience in a specific discipline
Superior oral and written communication skills and organization skills (including demonstrated skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills
Travel will vary based on business need (typically 35%)
Previous IT people management experience preferred
Computer Science or business degree preferred
Responsibilities:
Able to communicate with customer and customer vendor staff members to design and architect solution
Able to communicate with internal migration staff the overall requirements and help translate those into specific tasks
Able to work with Project Management staff, both internal and customer, on overall design of the migration
Able to lead and direct internal and customer staff in identifying and deploying the required migration solution
As a Transition Architect you will perform both prospect facing pre-sales support and post-sales transition support. Support is for outsourcing solutions and strategies resulting in complex multi-year infrastructure outsourcing contracts, with Fortune 1000 clients. You will present technical strategies to technical and non-technical audiences, including IT management and executives in an effort to sell client outsourcing services. You will also provide technical direction during due diligence and client transitions.
The selected Practice Consultant will be responsible for:
1. Traveling to the prospects site to explain the proposed solution to members of the prospects management and technical team
2. Providing technical guidance on request for proposals (RFP's)
3. Assisting in determining the prospects infrastructure requirements, problems, and opportunities
4. Providing technical support and review during proposal & contract documentation process
5. Providing technical leadership during the client transition
6. Continuing to retain and build upon personal technical skill set.
