For one of our clients we are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer/System Administrator (f/m) based in Munich.
Tasks:
Responsible for the availability, scalability, and reliability of the server infrastructure of the clients homepage
Develop Chef scripts to automate the server setup
Eliminate single points of failure
Decouple crucial components
Scale the infrastructure appropriately
Coordinate with the development team to ensure software and server architecture are a good match
Responsible to provide the developers with the best possible deployment infrastructure
Build a monitoring and logging setup that lets the developers evaluate the impact of their changes and alerts one if something goes wrong before the customers know
Support and coach our helpdesk system administrator in Linux questions
Skills:
Degree in IT, system administration, networking, or similar (LPIC etc.)
3-5 years experience in Linux system administration for web applications (Apache, Tomcat, Java, etc.)
Experience with Chef and IronFan
Networking knowledge (IP, DNS, DHCP, Subnetting, etc.)
Prior exposure to OpenStack or Amazon EC2 highly desirable
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Graylog2, etc.)
MySQL administration knowledge desirable
Self starter
Team Player
Willingness to work on-call
