Service Manager Business Intelligence
Ort: Berlin
Laufzeit: 9 Monate (Option auf Verlängerung und Festanstellung), 3-4 Tage, z.T. auch remote
For our client in Berlin we are seeking an experienced and competent team player who will further develop and manage our BI organization, infrastructure, systems and applications. He/she will find herself in an exciting environment with strong potential to shape and grow Business Intelligence services for the whole group. He/she needs to have experience in IT/SAP BI-based infrastructures and systems as well as in the implementation of BI applications. The ability and willingness to manage the organisation and be the "senior developer" at the same time marks the perfect candidate for this position.
Tasks
- Manage and grow the Business Intelligence organization within IT
- Define and manage Business Intelligence projects from conceptual to go-live phases with a distinct hands-on approach (both in application implementation and infrastructure management) in liaison with other IT experts
- Develop and manage the BI environment in alignment with the group's IT strategy
- Apply standard best practices for smooth operation of a complex and modern SAP BI environment (SAP BW 7.3, SAP BO 4.0, SAP FC 10.0 as cornerstones) (eg documentation, ticket-management, backup, disaster recovery, release management monitoring, defining and reporting SLAs, licence management, performance management, authorization management, architecture and data model management, etc.)
- Establish and maintain an excellent working liaison with all business departments
- Negotiate with service providers regarding consulting and infrastructure services
- Support IT financial management process in area BI
- Establish the Business Intelligence infrastructure as the central data-hub for the group's reporting and planning purposes.
- Provide end-user support and offer prompt solutions to all BI-related issues
- Support the Basis team in operating the BI infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating and managing the IT system and application infrastructure of the overall BI organisation
- Accountable for the performance of the BI organisation in terms of budget, systems architecture, personnel and customer acceptance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related fields of study with proven business experience through work or study
- 7+ years of working experience in a small or medium-sized IT environment in a multinational company, alternatively relevant business consulting background
- Strong implementation experience in SAP BI environments (eg SAP BW 7.x extraction, modelling and administration, Business Explorer, ABAP-OO, BI-IP, SAP BO Data Services/FIM and Front End tools such as Dashboards, WebIntelligence and Analysis, WebServices). Experience in SAP FC (former BOFC) a definite plus.
- Result and service oriented; hands-on attitude with a strong sense of urgency
- Experience in managing complex BI infrastructures and in leading IT/cross-functional teams and budgets
- Strong communication and moderation skills in interdepartmental environments; proven ability to report on management level
- Experience in managing 3rd party service providers
- A true role model in professional demeanour and self-motivation
- Strong organizational and project management skills, certifications are a plus (PMP, Prince2, IPMA, ITIL, o.a.)
