Background: My client is a leading Frankfurt based international bank; they have a number of financial applications (XETRA and EUREX) running on VMS requiring production support.
Tasks:
Technical monitoring and securing production start of trading platforms:
Xetra, Xetra-Ffm2, Eurex, WBAG, Xetra-Dublin, XIM and central counterpart CCP, OTC-CCP;
Permanent monitoring of availability of the trading platforms during trading;
Performing day-end-batch of trading systems;
Same tasks for all above applications;
Initiating escalation procedures;
Daily failure reporting;
Surveillance and maintenance of internal and external customers' interfaces;
Support of market supervision;
Second Level Support for the Technical Helpdesk (customer's requests);
Securing, storing and administration of production relevant data backups.
Skills
Operating systems (basic system management, good user knowledge):
Essential: RedHat Linux, Python;
Optional: OpenVMS, x86/Solaris, (Windows for office automation)
Essential: Scripting, languages: DCL, sh/bash, optional C/C++
Network, tools (basics, good user knowledge): TCP/IP (ftp, ssh)
Optional: DECnet, MQseries, Apache web server
Language: English.
