Start:
Duration: 4 months +
Location: Munich, Germany
Deployment: Fulltime
Maximum rate: Euros 65 per hour (all-inclusive, ex. VAT).

Job description:

Project to Upgrade internal configuration and add-ons from Office 2003 to Office 2010.

Environment:
Our client in Munich requires the services of technical consultant developers/strategists for the upgrade of the Microsoft (MS) Office 2003 to the MS Office 2010 product area (all application Servers and client applications), incl. MS SQL, TFS, IIS, etc, as well as the development of SharePoint workflows within individual project and team SharePoint sites. This area is responsible for development, support and deployment of applications built upon MS platforms and technologies, making use of mainly MS Office components and the MS development platform, but often interfacing with other architectural areas of the IT environment.

The focus for the area is on representing the interests of the business. Deliverables for Project Migration of MS Office 2003 applications to MS Office 2010 applications, as well as migration of MS Office 2003 Configuration to MS Office 2010 and some SharePoint sites workflow development:

- Bring experienced in-depth knowledge from a development and configuration perspective of MS Office 2010 Professional Plus, its individual products and the MS Office Applications Servers (including new for the clientMS Exchange and Outlook 2010).
- Analyse, design, estimate, prepare technical specifications for migration of Office 2003 applications to Office 2010 (including interfaces to other software).
- Development, conversion of coding, configuration, add-ons from Office 2003 to Office 2010.
- Development of workflows and configuration for individual team and project SharePoint sites.
- Project progress reporting to project management.
- Research, comparison, analysis, design and development of existing application modules in Lotus Notes which are required to be migrated to MS Office applications including their interoperability with other infrastructure interfaces, and how they best suit the EPO environment.
- Develop, document and support during migration process, the customised image of all MS Office components (client and Servers).
- Support the Change Request process and provide support for infrastructure and security concept planning or trouble-shooting for this area.
- Help define the training requirements for MS Office 2010.
- Provide architectural advice and support/planning concepts for developments, with input from the business contact and development team, according to Prince2 and ITIL methodology, incorporating cost/benefit and risk-analysis methods.
- Pro-active support in proposing streamlining and simplification of processes and tasks is expected.

Skills/Experience required:

Especially:
- Proven development experience with all Microsoft Office 2010 products (incl. client Project, Visio, InfoPath, and Application Client Server products, eg Exchange, SharePoint, Project), as well as interfaces to other software vendors (English UI).
- Experienced developers with in-depth knowledge of all MS Office components from development experience and not just usage as end user.
- Proven development experience (eg VB Scripts, batch files, VBA etc) and experience/knowledge of MS TFS.
- Experience in Coding/Configuration of Office 2010, with move from VBA (Office 2003) to VSTO and Team Foundation Server.
- Excellent knowledge of Visual StudioTools for Office.
- Design and build of SharePoint workflow code and configuration.
- Strong analytical and management skills.
- Methodical approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills in word and writing (English and because of location, German).
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly with a small group of staff, and at times independently, often under time pressure.
- Ability to assess the need for escalation and involvement of line management wherever appropriate.
- Ability to analyse requirements, present solutions to management and communicate directly with users in a coherent way, especially with respect to strategic advice on infrastructure and security interoperability issues.
- Project management experience and methodology knowledge (eg Prince2).

Also advantageous:
- Basic knowledge of Datamodelling, ITIL and Quality Assurance techniques.
- Familiar with use case testing methodology.
- Ability to work Full time in Munich, but able to travel to the other sites of the client if required.
