We are looking for Storage & Backup Administrator based in Hamburg, Germany for one of our esteemed IT services client:
Title: Storage & Backup Administrator
Duration: 3 months (Rolling contract)
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Roles and Responsibilities:
Backup and Recovery
- Should have hands on experience on the following concepts Networker management console, Volume Management, Index Management, NMC report, Media pool Staging, Archive, Group Scheduling, Notes Module backup, Library management, SAP R3 module Backup and VTL administration.
- Should have hands on experience on the following activities like Scheduling of New Backups/Modifying existing Jobs, Performing Mission critical restores, Installation & configuration of backup tools, Debugging Backup Failures, Scripting/Automation of Minor Tasks, Installation of TSM client agents, Planning Backup Policies Storage Units & pools, Tape Library Configuration, Administration and Installation of maintenance patch for backup tools and Media Management & storage Management.Should have in-depth knowledge of support/administration of Unix Servers and/or Windows Servers.
- Candidates should have worked in Unix/Windows Platforms, High availability, Server Performance, optimization and fine tuning, Checking the Server health, Checking network health, Administering DNS/DHCP Servers, Administrating IAS, Domain Controller issues, Resolving the critical issues.
- Proactive checks, Automation & Configuration
- Configuring and managing replication products like Flash copy,Volume copy, Global Copy, Remote Mirror, Global Mirror and Metro Mirror.
- Storage hardware management, Configuring primary and DR storages.
- Installing & configuring new expansion unit and disks. Troubleshooting skills in LPAR.
- Firmware upgradation on storage.
- Configuring & troubleshooting all copy service configuration files from server end. Designing & planning for new implementation, RAID, volume,volume group, and array.
- Managing & Troubleshooting Storage and Fabric issues.Coordination.
Hitachi Storage
- Should have hands on experience on Hitachi Storage product line.
- Should have a sound Knowledge on the concepts of Storage Area Network(SAN) Knowledge on differences between NAS and SAN.
- Experience of managing SANDesktop and Director Switches Experience on managing of Logical Units (LUN) Should be familiar with Business Copy (BC), Continuous access (CA), Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) concepts.
- Should Have experience in installing & configuring Backups using tape libraries.
- Knowledge on configuring zones.
- Should have hands on experience with Fiber Channel (FC) technology products Storage troubleshooting.
- Experience Aware of i-SCSI concepts.
- Should have knowledge of backup solutions and functionality such as IBM TSM, HP Data Protector, Veritas Netbackup etc.
- Should have experience in backup strategies and rotation.
- Having experience in Netapp Storage is added advantage.
