Primary Responsibilities:
The Probe administrator is responsible for providing advanced professional technical and practical support, as well as troubleshooting simple to complex hardware and software issues.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Analyze customer product issues within released applications,
- Provide Real Time e-mail and telephone support on advanced technical architecture, environment and support issues regarding the customers products,
- Handle all support ticket escalations,
- Analyze product defect reports and support tickets,
- Initiating, tracking and resolving customer's issues by recreating test customer scenarios and liaise with the customer/team support and engineering teams to reproduce issues,
- Ensuring that customers are updated continuously on the status of their issues,
- Producing complete and clear case documentation as well as knowledge base articles to aid in the support and usage of the system,
- Contribute to online discussions on product design and identify potential problems in proposed solutions prior to implementation.
Job Qualification/Experience:
- This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with prior technical and practical support experience and strong troubleshooting skills.
- To perform this job successfully, 1 or more years' experience as Technical Support Engineer is required. An experience with Tektronix technologies and products would be highly appreciated.
Technical skills:
- As a Telecom Engineer - your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Telecommunications protocols, such as SS7 (ISUP, MAP, INAP, BSSAP), GSM, GPRS, UMTS, UTRAN, H248, BICC, VoIP, SIP, RTP, etc.,
- Technologies such as E1/T1, ITU & 3GPP protocol specifications,
- Network interfaces such as A-Interface, Gb, Gn, GP, luCS, luPS, lur, lub, Nc, Mc etc.,
- Hardware and Software such as SUN/Oracle Servers, Linux/Unix and Windows Servers, Gnome and other X- Windows apps,
- Strong understanding of fixed, mobile and converged Telecommunication networks.
- LAN administration (TCP/IP).
- Engineering of Telco networks monitoring system.
- Using applications of Telco networks monitoring system.
Position Requirements:
- Fluent English (Clearly communicate in English verbally or in writing)
- Rigorous and organized, with excellent capabilities of communication.
- Good relational contact.
- Goal-focused and responsible for "getting the job done"
- Ability to self-train on new features before training courses are developed and before all source documentation is available
- Ability to work independently and be a self starter in ambitious project situations
- Working knowledge and experience with MS Office
- Working knowledge of telecom networks and networks elements
- Knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems

Duration: 12 months (subject to extension)
