Build and Release Engineer
I am looking for a Build and Release engineer for my client based in Munich.
The team is responsible for implementation and execution of product releases by working closely with cross functional development teams, reviewing code changes, tracking change histories, writing scripts, creating builds, test and releasing to production; this team hugely impacts daily life for engineering groups within the business. Our company is growing rapidly; as such, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about building and maintaining large, scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure. Responsibilities:
Build, Configuration and Support of Release management life cycle tools and processes.
Improve tools and processes for continuous integration, staging, automated testing and release management, supporting multiple contributing R&D teams
Build and improve release process for cross functional teams
Manage release branches, testing and production pushes
Think creatively and work independently, while interacting with product and engineering teams
Troubleshoot issues with the entire stack that may impact releases: hardware, software, applications and the network
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
3+ years Build and Release Experience, preferably in a zero-downtime or scaled environment
3+ years experience working on Linux/Unix/BSD platforms
2+ years experience in software engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of GIT or SVN, CVS, Clearcase, Perforce
Bash/Shell Scripting plus one or more of the following proficiencies: Python, Ruby, Perl
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver work under pressure
Desired:
Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Scala and/or Java is a plus
Experience with code signing
Software development experience a plus
Knowledge of RAID levels, filesystems, performance tuning, etc.
