Task:Role:
- Smartphone GUI Design/Development on professional services projects for the customisation of the client mobiliser product suite according to client requirements
- The Client Mobiliser is a Java-based transaction platform and business application to enable financial transactions, such as money transfers, international remittance, prepaid top-up, airtime transfer, merchant payment and bill payment, over mobile and other channels.
Responsibilites:
- The Smartphone GUI Designer/Developer (f/m) designs, implements and unit-tests smartphone GUIs for mobiliser-based mCommerce solutions.
- These GUIs are implemented using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PhoneGap and the Smartphone Mobiliser framework. Note: native apps are not in scope.
- Depending on client requirements, these GUIs need to cover some or all of the following smartphone platforms:
>iOS 4+ (iPhone & iPad)
>Android 2.3+ (Gingerbread)
>BlackBerry OS 6+
>mobile web version on smartphone browsers at same level of quality and performance
- The Smartphone GUI Designer/Developer (f/m) typically uses the following as input for his/her designs:
>Client-specific functional requirements (use case workflows, data fields, etc.) provided by project team
>Client styleguides, branding/CI specifications (high-level or detailed)
- The GUIs to be created are expected to satisfy the following requirements:
>Native-app look and feel (or almost)
>Excellent usability
>Fast performance
>Single code base (as much as possible) for the supported smartphone platforms
- The Smartphone GUI Designer/Developer (f/m) works independently using high-level input (rather than pixel-wise specifications) to create high-quality GUIs that satisfy the above requirements.
- Demoes prototypes or initial implementation to client and gathers feedback
Requirements (Must have):
- Deep experience in designing and implementing GUIs using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript is a must.
- Ability to work independently to create quality GUIs from high-level input is a must
Experience in creating GUIs for smartphones highly desirable, including experience in overcoming limitations of smartphone browser implementations and addressing the abovementioned requirements
- Experience with jQuery Mobile and PhoneGap desirable
- Experience with platform-dependent smartphone app lifecycles (build, signing, certification, distribution, update) desirable
- Experience in product customisation / systems integration / professional services projects desirable
- Experience with agile development methodologies, ability to work with rapidly changing requirements
- Strong, precise verbal and written communication in English is a must
- Confident interaction with clients
- Experience in offshore development desirable
- Ability and willingness to work in a project context and under pressure
- Availability for occasional international travel
