About the job:
Our client operates a mission critical IT environment in currently one Data Centre in The Hague, comprising two Computer Rooms and two smaller facilities in Munich. The
infrastructure consists mainly of IBM zSeries (Mainframe), xSeries and pSeries hardware, CISCO network equipment, storage devices and tapes.
What you will do:
Project Data Centre Management Software:
Data Collection (equipment, connectivity) and hardware inventory in the Munich Data Centres
Maintenance of the DCM tool with up-to-date information (installations and decommissioning in the Munich Data Centres)
RFID Labelling project:
Labelling all IT equipment with RFID barcodes according to our client's standards
Documentation
Potentially: automate the link RFID system to DCM tool
The goal of both projects is the full, up-to-date, documentation of hardware and connectivity in the DCM tool DC Planner, as well as an inventory and the labelling of all IT hardware within the MN Data Centres.
Other activities:
Hardware life cycle:
Support physical data cabling
Support physical Installation of server hardware and standalone devices
Support physical de-installation and decommissioning of hardware
Support the coordination of suppliers, procurement and goods reception
Help enforce EPO data centre policies and standards (access, cleanliness, install
and decommission procedures, health and safety)
The chosen candidate might be required to work occasionally on weekends (overtime) and be reporting to the Data Centre Manager.
Skills you will bring:
Experience of working in a data centre environment
Good knowledge of IT (infrastructure)
Knowledge of data cabling and server installations
Experience with Data Centre Management tools
Good communication skills
Fluent English
Ability to work autonomously and act proactively
Team Spirit
A plus:
Basic networking skills
Fluent German and/or French
