For one of our clients we are looking for a Network Engineer - German speaking
Task Description:
The Senior Network Engineer provides operational support for a client infrastructure. Primarily this role centres on the need to provide Tier 2/3 Operational Support of the Global Data Network. The role will be primarily fulfilled at client side in Munich.
Main task:
Troubleshoot, and escalate production problems per operations processes, affecting the global MPLS network and systems infrastructure
Work closely together with the offshore Global Network Operation Center (GNOC) in India and Prague in order to provide additionally Tier 2/3 operational support for network technologies of focus
Handling and escalating highly impacting operational issues to upper management and/or 3rd party vendor escalation
Problem management, diagnosis, escalation, tracking and resolution in close collaboration with GNOC
Support the planning and implementation of medium to high risk changes on production systems
Act as internal escalation source in case team members need assistance
Perform traffic engineering analysis on network and systems facilities
Build and maintain knowledge of relevant equipment, protocols, technologies, services and tools related to networks and Network Operation Centers
Articulate key aspects of architecture and design (eg, scalability, availability, manageability, robustness, appropriate incorporation of new technology) through models and documentation
Transfer knowledge and support technical project staff during the implementation of a solution/new network service
Required skills:
7+ years experience in the troubleshooting and performance management of networks
Customer service skills and client focus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to convey technical information using non-technical language
Hands-on experience troubleshooting Cisco Routers, Catalyst and IOS Switches (65xx, 45xx, 35xx series)
Hands-on experience on network related tools like Voyence and Zenoss preferred
Knowledgeable in the following data circuit technologies - ATM, DSL, Frame Relay, Ethernet, ISDN, POS and UCaaS
Expert knowledge in enterprise-level networking with knowledge in TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF and BGPv4, etc). Specific knowledge of BGP, OSPF and IP protocols in an MPLS Environment
Experience working on CoS, QoS, WRED and related quality of service parameters
Good understanding of high availability fundamentals (HSRP and VRRP)
Hands-on experience of LAN switching technologies: STP, Trunking, Etherchannel
Knowledge of VPN technologies and IPSec and GRE protocols
Understanding of network protocols like FTP, TFTP, NTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP
Exposure to multicast environment and knowledge of multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM)
Previous experience or aptitude to be successful in an administration and operations capacity
Problem-solving and analytical skills
English - business fluent
Traveling will be required
