The contract is with Trasys, a Belgian IT consultancy. Winning this database development role you'd join project team at the European Commission Agency EASA, in Cologne (Koln), Germany's fourth-largest city.
Key requirements:
- 7 years of experience in the development of Oracle-based applications;
- Excellent knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL and SQL;
- Good knowledge of MySQL RDBMS and programming using stored procedures/functions;
Experience in:
- application development utilizing Oracle PL/SQL, with PHP technologies,
- developing and deploying applications in a multi-tier environment,
- designing Datawarehouse environments and multi-dimensional Datamodelling;
- in following-up defect/bug reports and solving them through a controlled bug-tracking/change control procedure,
- in participating in analysis workshops with business users, analysing business requirements and design the application;
- Ability to produce well-structured, re-usable and quality code on schedule;
- Good understanding of database security features;
- Ability to communicate efficiently with the users and with the rest of the team in a multicultural environment;
- Very good English.
Description:
- The Database Developer will report to the Business Applications Manager within the ICT Department of the Finance & Business Services Directorate and will be in particular responsible for:
- Based on existing functional specifications, participating in the development of new applications for the EASA, focusing on the development of the Back End using Oracle and MySQL RDBMS's;
- Maintaining the existing EASA specific applications;
- Support end users when necessary.
- Ability to design data models (ERD's);
- Reporting to the project manager(s) on progress (time, scope);
- Reviewing the business specifications and ensuring their consistency between different projects;
- Writing the technical documentation allowing appropriate reviewing and sharing;
- Documenting the deliverables (code) in a level of details that allows shared maintenance.
- Rate will be set according to years of experience up to 420/day.
