Job Description:
In a world where the structures on chips are moving towards physical limitations and new devices are being invented (eg FinFET), software systems for design, layout and verification strategies get more and more challenging.
This is a position will be joining a team of ca. 15 engineers working on different fields of PDK development. As a physical verification and extraction specialist you will be responsible for the development of layout verification runsets (LVS, DRC, ERC, ESD) and parasitic extraction topics for our newest technology nodes like 28nm, 20nm and even smaller. In this position continuous learning is mandatory as you will be confronted with many new challenges during your daily work (eg additional design rules, new device types, new verification methodologies like high voltage or multi-power domains, high accuracy extraction, runtime issues).
A good background in semiconductors is helpful, as you will work in close interaction with device modelling experts as well as with product designers and layouters. You should have strong problem solving skills, as assignments are semi-routine in nature.
As the team is providing support to all of our design centres, you will be assessing architecture and layout limitations, develop automation routines, and prepare design specifications and recommendations for designers and layouters, too.
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical engineering or sciences like physics/chemistry
- Experience with Perl, C++ and Skill as well as general programming skills beneficial
- Familiar with UNIX/Linux as well as Microsoft Environment, Office tools
- General experience in PDK development expected
- English and German preferred
- Experience with Cadence and Physical Verification Software preferred
- Layout or design experience beneficial
- Team player, good communication skills
