Leading Energy Trading company require a DBA Production Manager to run technical operations in both Essen, Germany & Swindon in the UK.
You will have a production support background rather than a heavy PM background. Hands on skills are still useful along with the implementation of frameworks & working standards.
Have extensive experience managing a team of DBA's. This encompasses all aspects-objective setting, continual assessment of objectives, dealing with macro & micro issues etc.
You will be operating at a high level and therefore need to be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
Must have a strong knowledge of DB technologies.
Responsibilities:
*Responsible for production environment
*Deliver database management and application monitoring services
*Responsible for ensuring quality of services introduced into the Live estate meet an agreed set of criteria
*Ensures common direction, processes and delivery
*Strategic responsibility for team direction & direct line management
*Strategic interface with development managers
*Delegated control of the Production Operations budget.
General:
*Provision of agreed levels of service (OLA's) to agreed operational budget.
*Accountable for the provision of agreed Quality of Production operations services to the customer
*Accountable for the cost-effective delivery of the Production Operations services to the customer.
*Accountable for the Production Operations management strategy
*Overall ownership of defining, implementing & managing Production Operations policies, processes & Procedures
*Overall accountability for customer satisfaction regarding Production Operations for introduced services (Operational, Strategic, tactical changes).
Database
*Delivery of database and other core technology (WebLogic, IIS) consultancy services to ADM (Application Development Maintenance) teams
*Provide strategic leadership to ADM and S&A (Strategy & Architecture) teams within database and core technology fields
*Leading the development of standards for database and core technologies
*Ensure sufficient non production resources (environmental and staff) are available to support the application requirements
*Ensure the production system designs and capacity are suitable for hosting the production applications
Management:
*Identification & management of Production Operations Risks & Issues.
*Accountable for continual service improvement plan for Production Operations
*Leadership & direct line management of the Production Operations team globally.
*Provide effective leadership to the Production Operations team in terms of customer focus, operational excellence and people care & management.
*Accountable for all aspects of people management including performance management, people development and point of escalation for organisation/people issues.
*Responsibility for the delivery of assigned Audit actions.
*Effective point of escalation for the Production Operations service
