This position is for a consultant with experience in system administration, configuration controlled software build environments and experience with the operation or maintenance of large, Real Time Data Processing systems .
Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space. The consultant will work in the Operations Department supporting all Ground Segment Commissioning and routine operations.
The following experience/skills are required:
- Working in Unix and Windows and Windows Server-based environments.
- Familiarity with networking, distributed applications and TCP/IP services.
- Source Code control system, preferably CVS, SubVersion or Rational Clearcase
- Change Management processes and implementations
- Software build environments and tools (eg. make, imake)
- Design and implementation of disaster recovery systems
- Shell Scripts (sh, csh, bash or others)
Fluency in English is essential and a working knowledge of French desirable. This is a freelance contract assignment due to start in June 2012 for a period of 3 years with two extension options of 1 year each.
