For our customer, an inter-governmental organisation located in Darmstadt/Germany we are looking for a Network Administrator.

TASKS
· Operate and maintain the active components of the Network Infrastructure:
· Configure VLANs, operate and maintain WLAN Infrastructure
· Monitor the Internet access service, the network traffic
· Liaise with external parties of the Phone System
· Liaise with external parties of the Security System
· Maintain network cable infrastructure (fibre and copper)
· Provide physical network connectivity to IT equipment (servers, desktops, printers etc)
· Maintain System Design and Operations documentation.
· Provide user 2nd and 3rd level support for service requests
· Contribute to the procurement of information technology by providing specifications
· Act as interface with hardware and software suppliers
· Manage Network systems (HP Openview, NNM, CiscoWorks, Packeteer, APC)
· Quality management;
· Configuration and change control;
PROFILE:
The consultant shall have a University degree in IT or a comparable discipline together with proven 3 years of experience as IT Network Engineer and Administrator in an operational computing environment. The consultant is required to have as a minimum:
· Cisco certification CCNA
· Network infrastructure based on Cisco components;
· WLAN Infrastructure (preferable from Cisco);
· Cisco Works;
· HP Openview Network Node Manager;
· PRTG;
· Network cabling infrastructure (configuration control, patching, media type etc);
· Knowledge of Checkpoint Firewall and VPN;
· The working language for the position is English.
In addition, the following aspects shall be considered an advantage:
· Cisco certification CCNP;
· Knowledge of power distribution systems and cooling systems;
· Operation and maintenance of KVM systems;
· Operation and maintenance of APC components,;
· Experience in operating VOIP systems;
· Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified project and service environment;
· Knowledge of ITIL and hands on experience in change and configuration management.

The variety of the tasks requires a high degree of autonomy and the close interaction with users of the IT environment requires good communication skills and a customer-oriented approach with some experience co-ordinating IT related projects.

Candidates must have a passport of an EU member state or a valid work permit for Germany
