For one of our clients in Rhein-Main-Area we are looking for a Postgres DBA (m/f/d).Responsibilities/Tasks:
? Administration of PostgreSQL databases throughout the development and production lifecy-cles.
? Collaborate with development, architecture, and release teams, providing design recommen-dations and driving standards.
? Drive end to end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for PostgreSQL, using different tools.
? Manage backup and recovery functions for a PostgreSQL environment.
? Plans and manages patch application on all database servers.
? Enforce standards for database security for all production databases and for non-production databases that may contain PHI or other sensitive data protected under HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, or other state or federal regulatory requirements.
? Designs, documents, implements, and monitors archive and other essential log file configura-tion, operation, and location.
? Designs, documents, implements, and monitors backup of critical database files, and other da-tabase protection or high availability solutions.
? Monitors performance issues on all production and non-production databases (as applicable) implementing performance monitoring and trending on all production and applicable non-production databases.
? Designs, documents, and implements database configuration changes to improve perfor-mance.
? Creates, documents and implements standards for all database installs.
? Assist development and reporting groups in optimizing SQL statements in applications, batch jobs, and reports.
? Additional duties as needed.
Required skills/experience:
? 8+ years of IT experience
? Expert PostgreSQL Database Administrator/Architect (working with PostgreSQL v9.6 and above)
? In depth knowledge of PostgreSQL Architecture
? Experience with Python is a plus
? 3+ years of experience in any other (Oracle) database administration is a plus
? GCP (preferred) / MS Azure / AWS or other Cloud technologies
? BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
? Strong communication skills
? Strong interaction skills with clients
Project start: immediately
Location: Frankfurt
Duration: 6 months, extension possible
