Tasks
- Centralized management of VMWare virtual Servers hosted in datacenter or local farms.
- Optimization of virtual environment resources.
- VMWare Hosts management (manage host, datastore and network operations, assign roles and permissions etc)
- Virtual machine management (create, deploy, configure or delete virtual machines, solver virtual machine performance issues, scheduling tasks etc)
- Proactive monitoring & reporting for virtual server layer.
- Perform Capacity Management
- Automation of current processes
- Evaluation of reports/log files.
- Create and Maintain technical documentation
- First point of escalation for all technical and process issues.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise wherever required
- Ensure proper communication and quick resolution as a crisis manager.
- Timely escalation to management
- Plan and schedule Changes coordinating with different stakeholders.
- Perform Service Requests based on Standard Operating Procedures
- Service incidents and queries within the agreed service levels
- Perform RCA for Major Incidents related to his/her tower
- Work on the service improvement programs.
- Training of new team members.
- Work with project teams for activities such as new server build, OS upgrades, migrations etc
Skills
- Sound knowledge of VMWare App Volumes 3 standard and user environment manager 9, Horizon Standard 7, Horizon 7 for Linux, Horizon Advance 7 (CCU)
- Sound knowledge on vSAN 6.2 and Windows Server Std.
- ITIL Awareness
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
