This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Senior Software Engineer with strong Python experience to undertake a new freelance opportunity, with a view to extend and even go permanent. (If desired).There is a healthy level of remote work being offered, and you must be able to speak English.
Main Tasks:
- Understand business requirements and translate them into running software
- Take technical responsibility for the lifecycle of our Python libraries – from idea to specification, architectural design, prototyping and integration within production systems
- Contribute to the enhancement of our ability to process large-scale datasets of scalar and gridded time series as well as related data analytics and modelling activities
- Work closely with product owners, business and domain experts from disciplines such as meteorology, hydrology, water quality and aquatic ecology
The start date will be early January so a degree of availability will be appreciated.
