Build and delivery of a new banking platform, based on a modern microservices architecture deployed in the cloud. The incoming Java Developer / Java Contractor will be working as a key member within a particular feature team delivering a particular slice of the larger domain. Whilst banking domain knowledge is welcome, it is not a prerequisite - strong technical skills and the ability to work, explore and explain ideas within a team context is.Required Skills:
- Java 8+
- Spring Boot (and by implication Core Spring)
- Development with Docker based Microservices (Containerised)
- An up-to-date understanding of best practice applications design and development
- Working experience building services utilising AWS
Nice to Have:
- Experience of financial services
- Past experience of designing systems or components on large projects
- Experience in noSQL databases including AWS DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis
- Kafka (or other MODERN messaging/event driven systems like AWS Kinesis, RabbitMQ)
- Working with 'Event Driven architectures', ideally including 'Event Sourcing'
- ServiceMesh experience - Linkerd/Finagle
- DevOps (automation skills including CI/CD)
