Material Toolbox Designer (m/f/d)
For one of our clients in the area of Nuremberg we are looking for a Material Toolbox Designer (m/f/d) on a freelance basis.
Aufgabenbeschreibung:

To consult in building a material and color toolbox of the creative direction exhibition which is relevant for all design teams in APPAREL and FOOTWEAR.
The object is to provide a user friendly physical and digital tooling.

Key Objectives
Advise the horizontal color, materials, and print and pattern team to deliver seasonal physical toolbox of colors and materials:
  • Prepare swatches of Materials and build a material palette following project brief which is part of the Creative Direction Exhibition
  • Create a physical material toolbox in a timely and impactful manner, from vision until execution
  • Collect material yardages from every designer
  • Cut material swatches following the instructions of the exhibition setup (approx. 1000 swatches)
  • Print out stickers with technical information of materials from an existing database
  • Staple material swatches to paper cards and add stickers to the card (approx. 1000)
  • Pack 10-15 boxes with defined material swatches and ship them to global destinations
  • Create a digital material toolbox presentation in a timely and impactful manner, from vision until execution
  • Prepare fabrics to be photographed, ironing, cutting a swatch
  • Photograph Material in the clients photo studio
  • Distill photos and create a digital toolbox following a digital template Deliverables
  • Material physical toolbox creation
  • Material digital toolbox consulting
Anforderungen:

  • Fluent in English
  • Product Design, Industrial Design, or Textile experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and /or experience may be sufficient
  • Ability to operate in a fast pace, ever changing work environment
  • Ability to collaborate with the Creative Direction material and color team
  • Affinity to materials
Computer Skills:
  • Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Apple Mac Operating system
Location: Herzogenaurach or Remote
Start: End of August / beginning of September 2020
Duration: 2 Month (+)
