Data Platform Technical Lead ( Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Lakes ) is needed to join one of my prestigious Köln based clients on an initial 6 months contract.
As the Data Platform Technical Lead ( Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Lakes ) you will be responsible for:
• Architecture, design, development and delivery of an enterprise-grade Azure Data Platform solution
• Appraisal of existing Azure solutions, making recommendations and explaining the pros / cons of components to clients
• Provide a QA role on Azure solutions (including SQL, AAS). Ensuring best practice / standards are applied.
• Identification of performance bottlenecks within a solution and formulate approach to resolve.
• Work with on and offshore development teams to implement solutions and trouble shoot/resolve any technical issues
• Hands on and do development when required
Key skills required for the Data Platform Technical Lead ( Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Lakes ) include:
• Strong communication skills (German & English )
• Strong background of enterprise BI and Data Warehousing concepts and methods with the ability to adapt and tailor based on requirements
• SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS knowledge
• Strong Data Warehouse / Kimball methodology experience
• Understanding of software engineering tools and concepts
• Data Ingestion and Integration
• Data Storage (i.e. data lakes, blob storage)
• Relational Database
• Reporting and Analytics
Desired skills & experiences include for the successful Data Platform Technical Lead ( Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Lakes ) includes:
• Development with C#, Python, R, Scala
• PowerShell scripting
• Experience of using Azure DevOps / GitHub
• Passion for technology and a thirst for knowledge
• A science related education to degree level
