Automation Engineer (m/w)Department: Global Engineering
Requested timeframe: 01.08.2020 – 31.12.2020 (Mit Aussicht auf Verlängerung bis Mitte/Ende 2021)
4-5 days per week
Tasks:
• Lead software, automation and improvement related projects in both project management and execution to
improve manufacturing
• Improve & extend manufacturing systems to e.g. interface requirements
• Improve & develop infrastructure of manufacturing related data collection systems
• Develop specifications for automation related systems for interfaces and cross-communication networks
• Create use cases with stakeholders and end users to implement needs-based solutions
• Find best practices for the enablement of data driven applications in manufacturing systems
• Create robust interfaces for Level-3 software systems
• Drive backend & frontend development of software systems for productive use in cooperation with data
scientists and data engineers
• Create use cases with stakeholders and end users to implement needs-based solutions
• Find new methodologies and best practices for creating future data driven supply chain, quality control and
manufacturing applications
• Create interfaces for big data analysts
• Support and consult the engineering team in data acquisition and automation related topics
• Support and consult the manufacturing team in process optimizations
• Drive make or buy decisions for the extension of data collection and processing systems
Our requirements (to skills, education, etc.):
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or comparable work experience
- Practical experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, B&R, …)
- Practical experience in PC-based control and software systems
- Knowledge of Level-1 & Level-2 automation systems
- Experience with Level-3 systems (MES)
- Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes is a plus
- GMP experience is a plus
- English & German fluent
