Main tasks:
- Strengthening and monitoring the review processes for monthly and quarterly VAT returns and related compliance
- Risk-based review of the data integrity behind the system-generated SAP reports
- Providing advice to entities throughout the Europe region on VAT, intrastats, EC Sales Lists and Customs Duties in response to queries re-ceived including tax authority audits and enquiries
- Considering on a proactive basis the optimal indirect tax structure for the European group’s busi-ness units
- Collaborating with the accounting function, the business units and the internal control function
- Leading internal teams as well as external consultants on national and international indirect tax projects
- Advising and assisting the Director of Group Tax – Europe on indirect tax technical aspects of tax planning projects, such as mergers; acquisitions or group restructuring initiatives
Main qualifications
- University degree in economics or law with focus on taxation or comparable education with fiscal background
- Certified German tax consultant (Steuerberater) preferred but not required
- Relevant professional experience on VAT related matters obtained at a tax consultancy firm or at a corporate tax department
- Fluent English and German skills are mandatory
- Affinity with SAP and relevant IT developments (e.g. VAT automation)
