Beschreibung

The role holder will act as the primary reference point for all technical network questions, working in conjunction with our clients network architects.

Leveraging strong networking skills and experience, the roleholder will provide technical input to projects and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve high-priority incidents.

Additionally, after gaining a comprehensive overview of our clients enterprise architecture, the roleholder will support the architecture team in their engagement with projects, ensuring the potential impact of the projects on the wider network is clearly understood.

Finally, the roleholder will work closely with the outsourced network service provider to ensure they are maintaining the network adequately, and that any changes to the network are correctly risk-assessed.

Other than the specific responsibilities and duties outlined below, the role will not involve any hands-on technical configuration or implementation activities.

Responsibilities and Duties;

Rapidly develop an end-to-end understanding of the enterprise network, both current and the planned to-be architecture, sufficient to assist in troubleshooting and change management assessment
Drive the 3rd-party provider to solve outstanding technical issues, ensuring their proposed solutions are technically sound and will address the issue
Provide technical input and challenge to solutions proposed by the 3rd-party provider
Collaborate closely with in-flight projects to ensure any impact to the enterprise network has been identified and addressed in such a way that there is no degradation in overall network performance
Participate actively in the regular scheduled change management boards, ensuring planned network changes do not adversely impact production services
Build and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts throughout our clients IT organisation and its service providers, to optimize and maximise both formal and informal channels of communication
Collaborate closely with the service monitoring team and the network service owner to ensure services are operating efficiently

Skills:

- Experience driving delivery by 3rd-part outsourced infrastructure providers, constructively challenging technical proposals and architecture
- An advanced networking certification, eg Cisco CCIE, CCNP or JNCIE-ENT. CCNA is not sufficient.

Strong technical understanding of the following;
