ITIL Business Analysis Functions and Experience
The Business Analyst (BA) will assist the project manager in the implementation of a global IT Service Management (ITSM) System and industry standard ITIL processes ensuring geographic / functional / service line readiness and ensure realization of targeted benefits.
Required Experience
• The Business Analyst will have successfully obtained university and industry qualifications in disciplines such as computer science, information technology, information management, engineering or a comparable degree.
• A proven background in business analyst roles producing high quality requirements, design and documentation ideally for large enterprise projects.
• Competent in the delivery of presentations and proposals to a wide range of audiences with competent facilitation skills.
• Strong analytical skills covering problem definition and validation, solution development and selection, requirements gathering, gap analysis and specification including test planning.
• A confident self-starter that enjoys working in a small team, constructively influencing others and delivering on an outcomes basis.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work in multiple time zones.
• Experience working with ITIL, IT Service Management processes and will possess ITIL certification(s).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English is a must.
Additional preferred BA experience:
• Knowledge of, and experience with, appropriate change management frameworks (e.g. ADKAR etc).
• Organisational change management experience.
Anticipated Functions
The Business Analyst will take responsibility for ensuring that the standard ITIL functionality and processes that have been developed and implemented in the USA are successfully rolled out and implemented globally. Key functions may include:
• Facilitate requirement and foundational data-gathering sessions with various working groups.
• Analyze, consolidate and curate data for the implementation of the ServiceNow system and work closely with the Global IT Vendor to enable their successful configuration of the ServiceNow system.
• Advice thyssenkrupp Elevator concerning design decisions and solution approaches.
• Provide guidance to country working teams on ITIL processes; identify and mitigate potential gaps between current processes and proposed solutions using ITIL best practices. Develop change requests where needed.
• Develop testing scenarios and test cases to test and verify the solution against business requirements.
• Run or facilitate workshops
• Generate process designs, solution documentation and reports.
• The BA will also work closely with the project manager to assist in identifying and assessing project risks, issues and challenges as well as providing assistance in planning and tracking.
