  • Location: Dortmund - Germany
  • Duration: End of Dec 2019 (Extension until mid 2020 possible)
  • Must Have Experience in (MANDATORY): Wan Optimization/SDN/IP Networking/Cisco WaaS

WAN Optimization solutions (Riverbed, Silverpeak, Cisco WAAS).

In addition to above mandatory skills, candidate must be from IP Networking background with SDN and NFV basics.

This is a varied role working as a Senior Product Engineer in the Global Products and Solutions organization focusing on next generation managed network services with a particular focus on contemporary WAN Optimization technologies.

You will be responsible for the development of one or more managed WAN Optimisation solutions.

This work includes technical design and architecture, commercial aspects as well as communication with a variety of internal and external stakeholders such as IT, Operations, Sales Architects, etc..

Your main responsibilities as a Product Engineer will involve:

  • Developing products and product enhancement ideas in a holistic context
  • Creation of related designs and architecture documentation
  • Interaction with Sales architects and sometimes directly with customers to support key-sales opportunities and to elicit need information.
  • Management of the vendor relationships to drive new development

    • The ideal Principal Product Engineer Candidate:

    • Must have 10+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience as an Engineer in IT and Telecommunications.
    • Strong foundation in IP Networking ideally including contemporary SDN architectures and related products
    • Specialized knowledge and experience with WAN Optimization solutions (eg Riverbed, Silverpeak, Cisco WAAS etc.).
    • Some experience with Network Function Virtualization is a plus.
    • Understanding of commercial principles and business strategy
    • Highly developed and adaptive communications skills
    • Strong team-player
    • Ability to think and evaluate issues holistically and in a wider context.
    • Use to work self-directed towards agreed outcomes.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours
    • English language skills to a business standard
