My client is an industry leader in the field of defence and security electronics. They are searching for a freelance System Engineer to come on board in developing their latest aircraft self-protection system. This role offers a mix of remote and on site work throughout this 18 month contract.
Your Tasks
- Developing the self-protection systems for aircraft
- Capture and reconcile system requirements
- Integration, commissioning and testing of the systems and the associated test environment
- Creating concepts and evaluating solution alternatives
- Leading development teams and steering internal and external subcontractors
- Technical support for sales activities
- Technical customer support for integration, acceptance and flight tests
- Close cooperation with the disciplines product management, configuration management, logistics, production, quality assurance, safety and security
Your Profile
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in system development
- In-depth knowledge of self-defence systems for aircraft focusing on defence, countermeasures, integration and detection
- Knowledge in optoelectric sensors and emitters
- Experience in the management and coordination of small technical teams
- Knowledge of common serial interface standards (Ethernet, MIL-1553B, ARINC-429, RS422)
- Very good German and English skills
