Position 1:
PAC/Proxy Systems Technician (m/w/d)
This role is required to remediate a sub-optimal PAC/Proxy configuration which has grown organically and in an uncontrolled fashion over time, and is now causing significant performance issues. The roleholder will need to complete the following tasks:
• Systematically and methodically analyse the existing PAC files used across the enterprise, and propose changes to improve efficiency
• Work with the network architects to gain a full understanding of the current enterprise routing and the applications controlled by Procy PAC files
• Assess the current Proxy/PAC architecture across the enterprise and propose improvements that will boost performance (e.g. regionalisaton or re-routing)
• Prior to implementation of changes, design and implement tests to create baseline performance metrics for the current configuration and environment
• Work with the 3rd-party outsourced infrastructure provider to implement agreed changes, monitoring peformance improvements
• The role will be based in Hannover, Germany, and only candidates with the relevant EU work permits can be considered for this role.
Skills:
• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience designing, supporting and troubleshooting Proxy PAC configurations in a production enterprise environment
• In-depth knowledge and experience of the practical application of Proxy Pac systems, and the common issues encountered
• Strong understanding of Internet-related services, including DNS, Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol (WPAD,) and the use of Windows Group Policy.
• Practical knowledge of technical enterprise networking principles
• Holds a current (i.e. not lapsed) relevant technical certification (e.g. MCSE)
• Previous experience working with 3rd-party outsourced providers
• University Bachelor’s degree
Preferred:
• University bachelor’s degree in a technical IT-related subject
• Cisco technical certification (CCNP)
Language skills:
• English & German

Position 2:
Zscaler Technical Specialist (m/w/d)
Act as the Zscaler technical authority
• Support the network architects in ensuring the Zscaler environment is operating optimally
• As part of the change management process, review all proposed production changes by the 3rd-party infrastructure providers to ensure no negative impact to the Zscaler environment
• Under the guidance of the programme manager, collaborate with the network architecture team in the development and evolution of the network roadmap and strategy
• Provide expert guidance on request to other members of the network team
• Represent the network team in high-priority issue resolution efforts, using expert knowledge to guide the 3rd-party providers where necessary.
(The role will be based in Hannover, Germany and only candidates with the relevant EU work permits can be considered for this role!)
Skills:
• Minimum 5 years’ demonstrable experience designing, supporting and troubleshooting Zscaler systems in a production enterprise environment
• Experienced in web based security & network infrastructure, Security Proxies, such as NGFW, SSL/IPSec VPNs, and Firewalls
• ZCCP certified, both IA and PA
• Previous experience working with 3rd-party outsourced providers
• Able to describe in detail the practical issues encountered, and how these were overcome
• Understands the likely constraints of ZScaler when deployed at scale
• Understands the role of ZScaler in an SD-WAN environment
• University bachelor’s degree in a technical IT-related subject
Preferred:
• German speaking
• Cisco certified
