Your tasks:
• Our client seeks an experienced and motivated DevOps engineer with a demonstrable interest in information security to join their Information Security team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for security monitoring automation and detection technology development for our client´s global online presence. The ideal candidate will be engaged in a wide variety of information security related tasks, including:
Monitoring (our client´s) site environments for anomalous events and responding to events in a timely and brand protecting manner including reviewing and analysing security vulnerability data to identify applicability and false positives.
Designing and developing new tactical applications and tools for the team to support the incident response and vulnerability management functions.
Researching and testing cutting edge monitoring, detection and response technologies that align with eBay Inc. strategic goals. This includes developing testing tools, techniques, and process improvements.
Defining, managing and executing security monitoring and response related projects that align with team and organizational goals and "run the business" processes.
Collaborating with numerous global teams, including those responsible for Network Security, Networking, Policy and Compliance, Legal and Regulatory, Privacy, Site Architects/Operations, Business Leadership, Product Development and others on a regular basis to bring speedy resolution to security related issues that affect eBay Corporate or Business assets.
Having an interest in challenging existing technologies, tools, processes and procedures to constantly improve upon the threat response life-cycle and to design and modify test frameworks as required.
Your experience skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience in DevOps and agile working practices
• Strong system administration skills in both bare metal and cloud environments. Scripting in Perl or Python a plus. Knowledge of terraform and GitHub a requirement.
• Experience in working in a professional environment involving highly available, global applications and site-critical functions
• Experience in any of the following areas: System/Digital Forensics, Malware Analysis, Packet Analysis, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies, Unix/Linux/Windows system administration, Intrusion Detection System deployment/management or Penetration Testing/Ethical Hacking
• Demonstrate an interest and knowledge of security trends, malware landscape, threat mitigation techniques, and monitoring technologies
• Strong knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities, including ability to perform testing, validation and support the development of mitigating solutions
• Certifications considered a plus: CISSP, CISA, CISM, EnCE, GCFA Security
