Data Integration Engineer/Data Scientist (m/f)

Main tasks:
- Support architecture and design of a large Big Data system
- Be responsible for the design of the data integration piece of that solution (files, data streams, data bases etc.)
- Negotiate Interface Agreements with the owners of internal data sources
- Document and visualize the data integration designs as well as the interface specifications
- Steer developers so that they are able to implement the needed interfaces with sufficient performance
- Ensure that the data integration adheres to the policies of the customer
- Support the Quality Manager by testing the solution, by generating suitable test data etc.
- Estimate efforts to implement the DI solution
Main qualifications
- Strong background in Enterprise IT Architecture and Solution Design
- Profound and proven experience with data integration in Big Data projects (Hadoop, Flume, Kafka, Sqoop etc.) and mass data applications at Terabyte/Petabyte scale
- In-depth experience with IT projects in large enterprises
- Excellent communication skills in English (German skills are a plus)
- Team player mentality
- Proven ability to visually illustrate complex processes and IT systems in a comprehensive manner (e.g. Visio)
- Experience with performance critical data processing at large scale using files, data streams, or databases
- Experience with testing IT Systems and Data Integration systems is a plus
- Experience with working in internationally distributed cross-functional teams is beneficial
