You've probably seen or heard that banks use modern tech, pay well & have very challenging projects. You've probably also seen or heard that there is lots of red tape, politics to navigate and an unstimulating working environment
We realise that those things put off a large number of good software engineers. You'd feel more like you're working in more of a start-up environment, just within an existing business. Casual dress code and things get done. The team itself is full of expert software emgineers/software developers. I know, I can hear the sigh from here.

As a software engineer/Java developer, where do you fit in?
The agile development team is looking for an experienced Java-based Middle-Tier developer to help build our data integration layer utilizing the latest tools and technologies.
You'll join a critical digital department provides the technology platform for the asset Management and Wealth Management businesses globally. We are embarking on a challenging strategic digital programme, transforming the way Asset Management and Wealth Management does business.
You'll work in a highly collaborative & cross functional environment where smart people are solving interesting problems. You'll follow scrum methodology with two-week sprints.
Blockers have been removed to create a developer friendly environment where things get done quickly. The head Java team leader has does an excellent job of getting rid of unwanted noise, so you can focus on what you do best.
Tech environment:
- Core Java - Java 8 - java8
- high performance, highly resilient micro-service Java based middle tier development using spring cloud.
- Agile (scrum) based delivery practices, test driven development - tdd, test automation, continuous delivery
- Server Side development, data processing, Networks and Protocols.
- DevOps tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ Git, GitHub, BitBucket, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence and TeamCity
- API based/componentised services (Java, RESTful services, API management, micro-services; using open-source libraries and frameworks - we use spring boot and the Netflix stack
- RESTful API design
