Task:You work from requirements specifications to implement solutions fit for intended purpose from a functional, technical and quality perspective. Projects require clear documentation and an appropriate test suite (unit, integration, functional and non-functional).
As a developer in the FX Derivatives IT team, you work on multiple server-side applications. One system is responsible for trade capturing (providing price quotes for FX options and subsequent booking into the database). It uses the following technologies: Java J2SE, XML/XSLT, IBM MQSeries and C++. Another system provides volatility maintenance and pricing for the FX derivatives trading desk, using Java J2SE, JMS, JDBC and XML.
Requirements (Must have):
- 5 years Java J2SE experience server-side (e.g. threading, JMS, JDBC, XML/XSLT)
- Proven track record of delivering reliable and scalable software in a highly delivery-focused environment
- Proven UNIX skills (including shell scripting)
- Solid multi-threaded programming knowledge
- Used to working in small teams and taking full responsibility for assigned tasks
- Experience in the full software development life-cycle
- Excellent object-oriented design skills
- Good communication skills are essential
Nice to have:
Financial product knowledge in the derivatives domain or experience working on front office trading systems would be an advantage.
