Summit Business Analyst (Front Office) required for freelance/contract role in Frankfurt.
Responsibilities:
Summit Business Analyst with deep product and business knowledge. Summit is the target trading system for front & Back Office, from trade capture and risk through to settlement of the following products:
- Interest rate derivatives (front & back)
- Credit derivatives (front & back)
- MM/FX and related derivative products (front only)
- Equity derivatives (back only)
- Commodity derivatives (back only)
The candidate will form part of a development team and will be assigned to key projects, focusing on interfacing with both internal as well as external systems (including where appropriate in-house pricing libraries). One of the primary areas of focus will be Front Office topics (Treasury and Trading) like investigation of MTM, Accrual or Funding P&L or Risk issues, Pricing model investigations, adhoc trade portfolio analysis via SQL, regression testing result analysis/explain, design and specification of enhancements. Alongside all of this there is a BAU responsibility - contributing to maintenance and 3rd level support on the live Summit instance and the necessity to liaise from time-to-time with a diverse range of stake-holders, ranging from infrastructure, to where-necessary, end-users, including traders, sales, Middle Office, financial or risk controllers, etc.
The candidate should have a strong financial product and business background spanning across the areas mentioned. Also required is the ability to organise meetings, moderate workshops and co-ordinate tasks for software developers. Scripting knowledge (ksh, Perl, etc) as well as SQL Scripting is desirable. Working within a Solaris/UNIX as well as Windows environments is also critical. Knowledge of development standards as well as software development life cycle will assist in performing the role well.
Core Competencies:
- Expert in Derivative Products and Banking Processes for Treasury/Front Office
- Expert Application Infrastructure
- Experience Programming Languages and Development Tools
- Experience in Sybase Databases and SQL
Core Experience:
- Several years' IT experience at "Senior" level
- Experience as a Lead Business Analyst in at least 2 projects
Technical Skills:
- Expert business knowledge across our asset classes
- Expert Summit knowledge (many years of experience) and basic knowledge of its API
- MS Office tools (Excel, Access, etc)
- Sound working knowledge with Sybase ASE and SQL queries
- Working knowledge of Scripting in a UNIX environment, ie ksh/Perl Scripting and solid UNIX command line
- Knowledge of UC4 or equivalent (eg AutoSys) job scheduling
- Knowledge & experience of development tools and languages
