We are currently looking for an Architect data structure and data formats in IOT applications. The goal of the data strategy is to define a generic and standardized data structure with an industrially proven data format that is suitable for the needs and purposes. Additionally, a reference architecture with the appropriate, industrially tested communication protocols must also be defined for the data transmission from the vehicles/assets as well as the server or cloud-side transmission. Simultaneously, the safety and security needs and regulations or official specifications should be taken into account. You will coordinate together with the specialists for the IoT inventory architecture and prepare the comparison with the experts for RAIL-specific specifications and guidelines.As an architect you should strategically advice the project on the topics of data structures, models, formats, protocols as well as safety and security in safety-critical applications. Likewise, you will support us technically on data structures, models, formats and protocols for data exchange of vehicle data. Further tasks would be to work on integration scenarios for data structures and data formats for data exchange in existing application landscapes (vehicle and IoT) for vehicle data, while also comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different suitable data formats and protocols as well as communication on the server or cloud side. You will develop and evaluate various solution options with subsequent technical documentation of the chosen solution (description of data structure, scheme, etc.). Finally you will consult and coordinate the results, advice on developing a roadmap for migrating the heterogeneous current situation to a standardized data structure, and document the outcomes.
Project details:
• Starting period: 12.09.2022
• Ending period: 31.12.2022 (possible extension)
• Full-time: (5 days/week)
• Location: Remote / Max 5 days in Frankfurt/Main (alternatively in Hamburg or Berlin after consultation)
• Languages: German/English
Experience:
• Expert in the IoT environment: at least 7 years of experience with the connection of assets (vehicles, machines)
• Experience in the architecture of IoT data routes: at least 7 years of experience in the design of data routes that meet the requirements based on use cases in the rail, aviation or automotive industries
• Different data formats, protocols and their areas of application: at least 7 years of experience with the topics API, HTTPS, MQTT, AMQP, JSON, XML, Parquet and self-describing data structures
• Working with data formats and protocols (including appropriate evidence)
• Creation of technical documentation: description of the data fields, creation of schemas (XSD, JSON schema, etc.), creation of sample data sets
• IoT applications in security-critical areas
• Vehicle-land communication architectures: Knowledge of the special requirements of radio transmission
• Migration of heterogeneous inventory solution landscapes
• Multi-year market and trend overview in the IoT/technology environment
