The consultant shall support the global network team in transforming existing sites and planning and implementing new sites across the USA.The consultant will be responsible for delivering a turnkey solution per site.
KEY TASKS ARE:
- Perform on site surveys, evaluating the existing L1-L3 network infrastructure
- Provide recommendations for transforming sites to conform with corporate standards
- Create campus designs and corresponding device configurations based on corporate standards
- Implement and support the network infrastructure transformation/installation on site
- Monitor and manage local service providers
- Liaise with local IT contacts
- Gathering information relevant to the project and providing it to dedicated stakeholders
- Support of an international teams
- Analysis, evaluation as well as quality assurance of existing documents and information based on manufacturer standards (best practice), among others:
- IT integration contracts
- Network designs (MS Visio)
- Component overviews Networking
- Issue of recommendations for action
- Based on the findings of the previous gap analysis regarding network design etc.
- Review and evaluation of existing network documentation.
- Creation of documentation
- Creation of management decision templates as well as pronouncement of concrete recommendations for action
- Description of the target state of the network
- Creation of new technical design or infrastructure architectures based on the changing circumstances due to IT integration
- Creation / description of required project tasks to meet the project goal
- Identification and definition of networking work packages
- Independent processing of these
- Independent progress reporting on these work packages in the direction of the PM
- Risk management for the networking area
- Identification of project risks
- Elaboration of risk mitigations
- Discussing recommendations for action / decision templates
- Identification of technical dependencies for the networking area
- includes coordination in technical teams to work out solutions to problems, identify dependencies and point out risks to stakeholders from the perspective of a technical consultant.
- Creation of infrastructure RfCs
- Description of the required changes to the networking infrastructure
- Description of change risks as well as elaboration and description of risk mitigations
- Troubleshooting / Root-Cause-Analysis for occurring errors around affected networking appliances in the course of the required changes
- Participation as well as follow-up of project meetings, e.g.
- Implementation and operation of interim solutions
- Design, implementation and operation of interim solutions
- Migration from the as-is state to the interim solution and later migration of the interim solution to the to-be state
- Troubleshooting
- Communication with and management of international service providers
- Cooperation with local service providers for IT infrastructure
- Solicitation of offers, supervision and control of measures
All travel expenses will be payed for by our client.
Work location is mainly in the US and partly remote.
