Beschreibung

We are currently hiring for a Cloud Operations Manager for an initial 6 months contract assignment based in Leeds. The role can be hybrid of working from the office and home on some days or fully remote. (Duration is very likely to extend)

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Global Network and Infrastructure Director, you will be responsible for establishing our Cloud Operations capability, working closely with our managed services partner, as well as our existing Network and Infrastructure Operations team.

As Cloud Operations Manager, you will build the new Cloud Operations function and shape the relationships with our principle cloud partners, HCL, Microsoft, and AWS.

Accountabilities

Ensuring the delivery of stable cloud services and assessing their performance against agreed service levels

Management of 3rd party vendors involved in the delivery of operational services

Building and evolving a fit-for-purpose Cloud Operations capability

Product ownership for the cloud service

Developing the level of process maturity, compliance and continuous improvement across Cloud Operations.

Responsibilities

Establishing our Cloud operations capability

Working with HCL to define and establish cloud services

Providing operational leadership across all cloud infrastructure services

Ensuring that all cloud infrastructure services are appropriately monitored

Responding to issues and co-ordinating response and resolution activities with the 3rd party vendor, and existing operational teams

Managing operational relationships with cloud service vendors where they are involved in the provision of the cloud infrastructure services

Co-ordinating post-incident review activities and identifying shift-left opportunities

Development of a cloud services product roadmap

Ensuring that new services are transitioned successfully into BAU operations

Contributing to the Infrastructure and Networks function, supporting your peers and actively and consistently displaying the behaviours and culture that are a feature of an inclusive, supportive, high-performing function

Cloud infrastructure services are delivered within agreed service levels

There is a clear strategy in place to develop cloud service

There is a clear and effective governance structure in place with strategic cloud partners

Stakeholders feel informed about incidents and their resolution

Feedback from stakeholders across the organisation commends your obvious subject matter expertise and the effectiveness of your communication style

Skills and experience

5+ years in an operations role in an IT Infrastructure function with evidence of developing new infrastructure services

A broad and credible understanding of technology solutions across all cloud infrastructure domains including future trends and approaches

Experience in running public Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)

Experience of team leadership and development

Proven ability to work in a collaborative manner with peers and to achieve results through effective management of other subject matter experts

Ability to work at both a deep technical level and also to manage IT Leadership stakeholders

Strong knowledge of governance, compliance and security policies

Experience of creating and leading effective operations teams including staff development and mentoring

Ability to roll your sleeves up when necessary

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to translate technical language into clear, accurate terminology that non-technical people understand

Experience of maintaining vendor relationships

Able to work closely with peers and team members to drive concepts through to implementation.
