IT Project Planner
Darwin Recruitment are urgently searching for a Project Planner to be responsible to support the Project Manager in the execution of their project, to monitor the utilization of the Project Management Methodology within the project life cycle and advice the Project Manager in all areas of preparation, activity planning and effort/cost estimating and forecasting.
Specific tasks include:
- Conduct regular reviews with project management (eg financials, quality, status of risks & opportunities, progress)
- Support and assist in project planning, maintenance and monitoring (including project contingency)
- Proactive challenge of project planning (sanity checks)
- Responsible for communicating any schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and time constraints to the project team.
- Review statements of work and prepare and plan procurement activities
- Provide planning and resource allocation services that support the project schedule.
- Accountable that IS projects follow procedures (gates, reporting).
- Advices the project manager in the setup of the project baseline.
Required Skills/Experience
- Strong experience in creating project plans, project schedules and associated project materials
- Financial acumen to align project cost with financial books, understand earned value metrics
- Ability to manage project plans in MS Project Server 2010 (or higher)
Optional Skills/Experience
- Project Management certification (PMI, PMP, Prince2) is an additional asset
- Project Management experience
- IT Governance and IT management related certifications like CGEIT, CISA, ITIL Service Manager or ITIL Expert
