My client based in Munich is currently seeking a Network Engineer for an immediate 6-12 month contract. You will need to be fluent in both English and German.
The role will involve:
- Maintain and ensure maximum sustained performance and availability of the Company's network systems. Perform ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance. Maximize the capacities through ongoing capacity planning. Adjust utilization to preclude overload. Oversee vendor involvement where applicable.
- Provide 3rd level troubleshooting of systems and isolate the source of the failure. Be able to drive a cross functional team (including equipment or service vendors) in diagnosing issues and initiating appropriate actions for repair or mitigation and provide appropriate status communications to management.
- Provide estimated timelines, cost/benefit, and risk analysis to project stakeholders (senior management/IT/Finance/project team) for preferred and alternative design solutions. Work closely with team members to develop and maintain project plans on smaller initiatives and monitor adherence to project schedules and budgets.
You will need experience with the following technologies in order to be successful.
- Cisco platform and routing (BGP/OSPF) and switching and wireless
- Juniper platform routing and switching and Firewall security, including JUNOS and Netscreen
- F5 Loadbalancers
- IPSEC VPN (Site-to-Site VPN)
- MPLS
- QoS
- Vendor/ISP management/coordination
- Incident management
- Network Documentation management
Experience and good knowledge in almost all areas below or most areas is a requirement:
