SDN Solutions Architect
This project is a next generation FTTx delivery system for a leading international telecommunications company.
The role of the SDN Solutions Architect is to lead technical customer engagements to create and agree system level solution architectures for the projects component systems and to be responsible for the design, development, test and delivery of features for the platform and associated systems.
The role responsibilities range from working with customers, product management, developers, testers and field engineers, to understand and document requirements, through to design, implementation, delivery, test and support of technologies to satisfy those requirements.
Key Goals:
- Own and lead technical customer engagements from first principles through to agreed and signed-off solution architecture.
- Distill customer demands from solution architectures into the product features or requirements in coordination with the Product Manager.
- Understand the project technology and contribute the development of its features.
- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across product management, architecture, product delivery and customers to ensure effective knowledge transfer between customer engagements and product development.
- Develop high quality solution architectures in an efficient and effective manner.
- Own technical space of project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years of experience with solutions architecture in the space of telecommunications.
Desirable:
- Understand Access network standards: GPON, G.Fast etc.
- Experience in EMS/NMS systems managing passive optical networks (PON)
- SDN/NFV technologies, including ONOS, VOLTHA, ODL, ONAP, OSM, KVM, NETCONF/YANG, OpenFlow, Open vSwitch and related technologies.
- Network management technologies including EMS, NMS and OSS/BSS systems in general.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus and the Atlassian tool suite.
- Open Source software tools, libraries and development processes.
- German language a plus
