Senior Technical Solution Designer Cloud (m/f), Frankfurt, Germany
Our client in Frankfurt is currently searching for experienced Senior Technical Solution Designers (m/f).
Tasks:
- Requirement gathering for each application (eg vendor, availability, capacity & performance, )
- Review and provide feedback to functional setup and design documentation
- Creation of high level infrastructure documentation (eg services used, software versions, sizing of compute and network, scalability design, security design, database design, licensing, monitoring integration, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, automation design, )
- Create high level operation concept (application)
- Check compatibility with service catalogue and create RFS if necessary
- Work with IT security and compliance organization to achieve internal approvals
- Coordination of detailed design documentation with subject matter experts and application development team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years practical experience in similar solution design/architectural roles
- Used to interact and feel comfortable working with developers, IT infrastructure experts, IT admins, IT project managers, CISOs and senior management
- Experience in requirement engineering (and agreeing requirements between business owners and other stakeholders)
- Guiding & documenting the decision process
- Risk assessment
- Experience with technical solution design for systems with critical non-functional requirements not limited to SLRs for availability, performance, latency, security, disaster recovery,
- Experience in checking compatibility between application providers, IT service catalogue, cloud operations, cloud provider,
- Experience in finding a solution within the scope of a given IT service catalogue
- Experience with technical solution design for public cloud deployments (Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of the specific challenges and restriction when using a public cloud (eg in networking)
- Not afraid of creating documentation (Confluence, Word, Visio, PowerPoint )
- Good knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server 2016
- Good knowledge of SQL databases especially in regard to HA and DR design (preferably for MSSQL/Azure SQL DB)
- Experience with agile (SCRUM) and waterfall (PMP) project management methodologies
- Used to work with ambitious timelines and changing priorities
Required Experience with infrastructure design:
- Redundant and non-redundant designs - using a variety of technologies for redundant solutions, eg cluster, load balancing
- Disaster Recovery solutions
- Infrastructure design & sizing (VMs, storage and network)
- Directory integration and identity management (IAM/IDM, AD, AAD, LDAP, OIDC)
- Network design (routing, VPN, load balancing, UDR, NSG)
- Security design (layering, communication Matrix, reverse proxies, WAF requirements, logging, encryption, certifications, PKI )
- Scale-out design consideration (VMSS etc.)
- File, image and application specific backup/restore solutions
- License optimization
- Monitoring
- Financial forecasting (cost for infrastructure, licenses, operation, )
- SQL database setup especially in regard to HA and DR (preferably for MSSQL/Azure SQL DB)
- Automation design
- Operating concepts
- Scale-out design
- Integration of solutions with IAM and directories (AD, AAD, etc.)
This role is NOT about:
- Hands-on
- Software architect/developer role
- Enterprise architect role
- Project manager role
Nice-to-Have skills
- ITSM (ITIL Foundation or Expert)
- Knowledge of Redis (distributed caching)
- Knowledge of Hadoop
- Knowledge of Microservice architecture based on Java/Spring Boot stack
- Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka based message bus technology
- Knowledge of the special requirements of the financial service industry (eg PCI-DSS etc.) and general data protection regulations (EU GPDR etc.)
Language Skills:
- English (business fluent mandatory)
- German (nice to have)
