Cloud Architect
- Germany or UK based with frequent travel to Germany
- Rate £650 to £750 per day
- Start December
- 6 month contract full time
Blackthorn Trace have partnered with a global consultancy who have secured a transformation project for one of their highly valued Telco clients. They need a Cloud Architect to design their Cloud environments with a focus on Azure and AWS. You will demonstrate technical cloud Architecture knowledge playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA and development of Cloud Infrastructures running in 24x7 environments. The role will focus on delivery of our customers cloud strategies with a focus on Cloud Migrations.
You will provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud including implementation of Azure or AWS within large regulated enterprise environments. You will nurture Cloud computing expertise internally and externally to drive Cloud Adoption.
To succeed
- Azure or AWS based Cloud Architecture and migration skills and experience.
- Strong understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs.
- Knowledge of further Cloud technologies (Azure, S3, VMware)
- 4+ years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect, with focus on Azure, cloud, server, storage and networking.
- 10+ years' experience with MS Server Operating Systems
- 4+ years' experience with MS SQL, SharePoint and .NET
- Experience in leading a team applying all elements of Technical Consulting
- Understands and can articulate the technical merits and value of Cloud computing
- Experience with "on-premise to cloud" migrations or IT transformations
- Experience architecting/operating solutions build on AWS
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
- Passionate, persuasive, articulate Cloud professional capable of quickly establishing interest and credibility in how to design, deploy and operate cloud based Architectures. Strong written, verbal and chalk board skills
- Experience in working in Prince2 or PMI, Agile methodology managed projects is valued.
- Experience in enterprise applications, solutions and data center infrastructures

Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
Experience and understanding of FINTECH or other highly regulated industry, including but not limited to PCI, RegE, Card Association Rules and NACHA
Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
