PLM-LIMS will enhance the existing solution on SAP using modules RD (recipe development), EHS specification database and QM to further support recipe and process development.
IT Project Manager Needed skills
- Experiences in leading IT projects
- Deep knowledge of SAP Recipe Development module
- Deep knowledge of SAP EHS specification database
- Knowledge of SAP QM master data structures
- Ability to drive a requirement Analysis Phase with Business Counter parts, to provide functional design and develop (for some parts) the necessary ABAP programs with WebDynpro User Interface
The idea of the project is to review the processes in Product development and how these are supported with the PLM LIMS solution in order to find out which adjustments have to be made to better support the product developer in their daily work. Another aspect of the project is to analyse what needs to be adjusted in the software and develop the adjustments to better integrate Packaging and Formula development. This means to develop ways in which Packaging and Formula can eg easily work together on the same storage tests and search for storage tests which have been created by the other party.
Project Purpose
The purpose of the project is to improve the usability of PLM LIMS with respect to the knowledge gathered from product developers who have been working with the software for a certain time, eg adjust the search engine for missing search fields, rework the status concept. In addition the solutions for packaging and formula should be closer integrated eg with respect to the combined work on shared storage tests.

PLM-LIMS gives full support of joined formula- and packaging development processes.
Processes and status concept are in place to guarantee a smooth workflow for product development.
Improved user friendliness and additional functionalities
As is situation
PLM-LIMS is used by the R+D world-wide as the leading system for product development and its documentation. Packaging development has started end of 2016, too.
Since formula and packaging work together on storage tests, for effective collaboration, LIMS needs to be enhanced.
In the daily work with LIMS, some complex, but necessary processes have been identified, which are time consuming and need to be more user-friendly.
Solution Concept
- Analyse processes in product development with regard to the use of LIMS. What is covered well what needs adjustments either in terms of the process, software handling or small adjustments of the LIMS application. Regarding the combined usage of storage tests analyse how packaging and product development have to work together.
- Discuss possible solutions for the combined work on storage tests, like eg enhancing the enterprise search with new fields. Find possible solutions to make product development with LIMS more user-friendly and better support the work of the product developer.
