Description
- Specialized Back Office engineer providing technical support and guidance for Windows and Citrix environments
- To be part of, and to effectively contribute to, the objectives and work of the Back Office Support team.
- Escalate & Liaise with Vendors & service providers
- Support during Vendor/Supplier meetings with technical/statistical data as required
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Back Office technical support for all aspects of the Windows domain and Citrix platforms
- Responsible for analysis, diagnosis and problem solving on Windows domain and Citrix platforms
- Advising on the processes and procedures that the Back Office Support team are responsible for and have involvement with.
- Interfacing with Engineering and Project Management to ensure that all technical issues that will affect the operational environment are included in acceptance testing, discussions etc
- Ensure that all necessary hardware and software functionality is included and performance limitations are understood within Operations.
- Ensure that documentation exists to be able to support operations and projects
- Ensure that accurate configuration documentation is maintained and an adequate disaster recovery procedure is supported.
- Closely monitoring the planned works in the domain to ensure that network availability and visibly is sufficiently maintained taking the necessary corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure that availability is maintained whilst carrying out hardware and software upgrades.
- To maintain maximum levels of availability by assisting in the development and/or enhancement, of reactive & proactive skills and processes.
- Ensuring that security is maintained at all times.
- Advising the team responsible for the above activities, assisting with prioritising work and giving direction and motivation.
- Effectively escalate & liaise with Vendor support until fault resolution.
Experience Required:
- Microsoft Terminal Server 2003, 2008R2 and never
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2 and never
- Active Directory
- AD Group Policies
- Citrix XenApp 5 and 6
- Citrix XenDesktop
- Citrix XenServer 6
- Microsoft IIS
- Microsoft SCCM
- MS SQL Server
In addition to the technical competence we require from the candidate:
- Extended expertise in ICT enterprise environments related methods and tools based on standards in the framework of ITIL and IPCC
