Engagement/Business Development Manager

My client, a global Telecoms giant is currently looking for an experienced Engagement/BDM for a long term contract based in Bonn, Germany.

The role of the Engagement/BDM is to drive services business growth and increase relevance of services in their respective technology, vertical, theater or geography for specific customers and in support of the services portfolio as a whole (as in new product launches).

Some of the duties include the following:

  • You will engage with multiple stakeholders including Account teams, CA Sales, BU's and cross-functional teams across the different areas of the business (Practices, Advisory and Theaters) in order to ensure alignment of the customer needs with the proposed services.
  • You will utilize a consultative approach to craft accurate sizing and scoping while performing risk assessment, profitability analysis, and ensuring the project will deliver a high customer satisfaction
  • You will work closely with your partners in the sales and delivery organizations to help create both the commercial proposal and any associated legal framework (eg SoW).
  • Expand the AS business into new offerings and break into new markets.
  • Develop, evolve and influence both the Product and CA sales strategy across the areas of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to the BDM community in evolving both the strategic and business approaches and creative problem-solving.
  • Provides individual coaching and mentoring to cross-functional teammates to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Drive interlock between senior leadership and the BDMs to ensure alignment on the client's overall growth strategy.
  • Develop innovative models where client and partner delivery models are combined for mutual benefit.
  • Take responsibility for the largest and most complex opportunities, including global accounts and customers.
  • Coordinate a highly leveraged team of stakeholders in order to win the business in a way to ensure delivery success as well as growth opportunities.
  • Provides leadership at a global level in order to ensure best practice sharing across theaters.
  • Demonstrate visionary thinking with relevance to the growth of the business within their specific area of responsibility.
  • Works independently toward objectives with account team based upon customer requirements.
  • Receives assignments in the form of strategic objectives and translates those into actionable plans.
  • Work is reviewed in terms of meeting strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership skills with customers, engineers and account teams.
  • Understands the challenges and is capable of negotiation, communication and presentation skills in global accounts.
  • Understand the objectives of and can execute solutions led selling.
  • Is capable of communicating in both written and verbal formats at CxO or Senior Management levels within Cisco as well as to customers.
  • Have a proven track record of developing multi-million US$ business opportunities
  • Language Requirement: English (German is a plus)
